Yankees 101 Giveaway: Mitchell & Ness 1951 Mickey Mantle New York Yankees Home Jersey

In honor of Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle's legendary career with the New York Yankees, Mitchell & Ness and Yankees 101 have teamed up to give away a free Mitchell & Ness 1951 Mickey Mantle New York Yankees home jersey! The jersey, which is a lightweight wool flannel blend with felt logos on the front and back ($250 retail value), is pictured below along with details on how to become eligible to win.

After starting the 1951 season, his rookie season, wearing number 6, Mantle was sent to the minors following a brief slump. Mantle then returned later in the season wearing number 7 as he helped the Yankees win their 14th World Series in franchise history.

To become eligible, just answer these three questions relating to Mantle's career and post the answers in the comment section below:

A winner will be randomly chosen from the readers who answer all three questions correctly and announced on Mantle's birthday, Saturday, October 20.

    Mantle played for 18 years. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974 and hit for the triple crown in 1956.

    Mickey Mantle played from 1951-1968 (18 seasons), was elected to the HOF in 1974 and hit for the Triple Crown in 1956 (.353/52/130).

    Mickey Mantle made his MLB debut on 04/17/1951, and played his final game on 09/28/1968. He debuted and retired in Pinstripe Blue, playing every game with the YANKEES, or an affiliate. He won the Triple Crown, easily, in 1956. Mantle was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974 with an 88.2% First Ballot vote.
