The New York Yankees have signed utility player Bill Hall, according to Hall's Twitter account

"IT'S OFFICIAL IM A YANKEE!!!!!!!! #IwannaRing!!!!," Hall tweeted.

The 32 year-old veteran has agreed to a minor league deal, tweets Erik Boland. Hall works out in the offseason with Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long, which most likely played a role in Hall ending up in pinstripes.

Last season, Hall batted .211 with 14 RBI and 24 runs scored, starting the season with the Houston Astros and finishing with the San Francisco Giants. However, Hall batted .247 with 18 home runs and 46 RBI in the previous season for the Boston Red Sox.

Hall is as versatile as any player you will find. His primary position is considered to be second base, but he's also played shortstop, third base, and all three outfield positions throughout his career.

Another utility player was not exactly a need for this Yankees roster, but a versatile player with veteran experience can be valuable as players wear down throughout the season.

The Yankees have been searching for a left-handed hitter to be the part-time designated hitter, but have yet to finalize anything. However, Hall's contract should not affect New York's pursuit of Raul Ibanez, Johnny Damon, or Hideki Matsui, considering Hall bats right-handed and only signed a minor league deal.
